    is a musical with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
    It was inspired by William Shakespeare's play

    A 1984 London production originated at Leicester Haymarket Theatre and transferred on May 16, 1984 to Her Majesty's Theatre. It closed September 28, 1985. The 1980 Broadway production was recreated by Tom Abbott. The cast starred Steven Pacey as Tony and Jan Hartley as Maria. Maxine Gordon was Anybodys.
